Air Force warns against criticism of superiors online

In the wake of Defense Department bans on several hugely social networking sites, the Air Force is warning airmen against posting foul photos, offensive language or criticism of superiors online.

Airmen should be especially cautious about appearing in uniform in a setting that could cast the Air Force in a bad light, said Philip Donohoe, general law director at Air Force Reserve Command Headquarters.

“If an airman posts a Web photo of himself or herself in uniform, then posts language that’s racist, sexist or critical of DoD policy or officials,” he said, “that can also cause problems”...

He also cautioned airmen against appearing to endorse a commercial product and posting deployment dates online.
